Cheese and Onion Pie
- 6oz Short Crust Pastry.
- 1/4 pound dry grated cheese
- 3/4 pound onions
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Grate the peeled onions on a suet grater, chopping the remaining pieces finely.
Mix onion, cheese and seasoning thoroughly.
Prepare the pastry.
Divide the pastry in half and roll out into two rounds.
Line a seven inch sandwich tin with one half and moisten the edges with beaten egg or water.
Put in the filling and cover with the second round of pastry.
Trim and decorate.
Brush with beaten egg if liked.
Bake in a fairly hot oven (Gas 6 400F 200C) for 40 minutes on the middle shelf.
